October 12-18

Monday we have practice from 6-7 in the Heights GYM. We cannot practice outside anymore, it is getting too dark too quickly. 5th, 6th, and 7th grade will run through their home routine a few times for the last regular season game this weekend and then will start working the wheelchair basketball game routine, details on that game below. 8th grade will practice their routine until probably about 6:30 and then will be making posters and goodie bags for the 8th grade football players for their last home game. I will send them some ideas but if you are creative or want to help us out, we would always appreciate extra adults! I'm also hoping if we have extra hands, it'll go faster. We will probably send them to the back gym or the gym lobby to each create 1 poster for 1 player (it will be a random player, to be fair). We are hoping to have them finish around 7pm but I have a feeling we may need to go until 7:15 or so. 5th, 6th, and 7th grade will end practice at 7pm like normal.

Wednesday we will not have practice because of conferences. The gym will not be available for use.

Saturday we have the last regular season home game at the high school. 5th/6th grade will cover the 5th grade game, meeting at 8:15am and then will stay at the game to perform for the 6th grade game right after. 7th grade will meet at 12:15 and 8th grade will meet at 2:15.

The details for the games after this weekend have not been confirmed because we still have 1 game to play. Everyone usually plays on October 25 but we aren't sure of the location or the times. I assume we will know that information early next week so we understand if you cannot attend because it is last minute. Then on November 1, the top 4 teams will play for the championship. Again we won't know that information until after the game on the 25th so it'll be last minute again. No matter what, if we have teams playing on November 1, we will be asking for everyone to support, if you're able to, we just won't know locations/times yet.

The wheelchair basketball game is an optional performance on November 6. We will put all grades together like we did for showcase so we will be practicing for that performance starting at the end of Monday's practice. We need to know who is planning to attend that performance and who will not be so we can plan accordingly. It takes a lot of work to put all the kids together so the more we know in advance, the better. In order to perform on November 6, the practices on November 3 and 5 will be mandatory. Anyone that misses practice for any reason including being sick, another team practice, homework, etc. will not perform. Please ask/let your child know if they can attend so we can get a roster together on Monday of who plans to be in it.

Banquet is scheduled for November 16 around 5-8pm (I need to double check the time). I believe we arrive around 5:30, eat at 6, and awards/gifts at 7. This is optional as well. The girls will get in for free. Each child can bring 1 adult to banquet but the adult ticket is $35. You can also drop off and pick up if they want to attend without an adult. We have to have a headcount and payment by November 1 so please have payment and a RSVP to a coach by November 1. Payment can be made in cash (please send in an envelope so I can easily keep track of who turned it in) or cashapp. Unfortunately we had to remove our venmo account so if you need to pay via venmo, you can venmo me (madisonstausebach) and I will get it to the treasurer. If the kids are going by themselves, we need an RSVP saying they will be coming alone. You can text/email a coach or have the kids tell us at practice.
