Camp is next week! We are so excited to start learning everything we need for the season. We will be in the Holman gym from 9-4pm. I try to be there around 8:30 if you need to drop off early. Please make sure they eat a good breakfast because we don't take a snack break and we are working constantly during camp so they need the energy. We do provide lunch but do not provide drinks so please make sure they have a water bottle and they can refill in the water fountains at the school. They need to wear athletic clothes/shoes like tshirts/tank tops, leggings, shorts, tennis shoes, socks, cheer shoes, etc. We don't want them to be in sports bras without a shirt, jeans, crocs, or flip flops. Their hair should be up and out of their face and all jewelry, watches, dangly earrings, necklaces, etc should be removed. I have extra pony tail holders, bobby pins, tampons, panty liners, nail clippers, and basic first aid stuff in my bag but please try to bring their own so I don't run out day 1. The kids will be expected to bring their phones to the front and if they try to sneak it in their bag, there will be consequences. They don't need their phones during camp until 12-1pm for lunch. If you have an emergency or if they have medical needs, please contact a coach.
They will be learning motions, jumps, an away cheer, the Pattonville fight song, the home routine dance, stunts, and possibly chants all week. I will post what we learned on the Band account. I plan on getting the kids logged into the Band account on Monday so if you can have them download the Band or Band kids (green/black logo) app that would be helpful!! Monday we will also try on shoes after lunch. If your child does not come home with shoes, that means I have to exchange sizes. Varsity is pretty quick about exchanges. Tuesday we will try on all the uniform pieces and again, if your child does not receive a piece of the uniform, I have to get a new size so please be patient with us!
Thursday is the pool party at Bridgeton Community Center from 6-8pm after camp. This is for the cheerleaders and their family/siblings to enjoy. Concessions is sometimes open but I'm not positive if it will be open or not. We will not be providing food/drinks at the party. It is free for you to attend. You are welcome to drop off and pick up if you'd like but please pick up on time.
We are going to have a big showcase with the high school teams eventually in August so we are not going to have a parent viewing after camp. We don't have a date yet but I will let you know when something has been scheduled.
